June - July 2007

Cadence is now 2 1/2 years old and such a sweetheart. She is proving to be extremely athletic! We placed her in a tumbling class that started 2 months ago. They let her do a trial 2 weeks because the class was meant for kids 3 1/2 to 5 years old. She had difficulty with the crab walks and sommersaults at first -- and every day she made us help her practice. On the 3rd week the instructor came out to tell us she was the best sommersaulter there! :) She looks forward to the class each week and is doing great!

One of her other favorite things to do is to climb anything and everything - especially the climbing walls. She barely waits for us to get near enough to watch out for her before she heads on up!

She's been going to daycare twice a week and just adores hanging out with the kids there. It's a great daycare, but unfortunately they are closing down at the end of August. So we're in the search for a preschool for the fall. We need one who will take her as a headstart preschooler since she has a late December birthday - but she enjoys learning and being out and away from mom and dad so it's something she definitely needs!

This summer she's gone to Phoenix with the twins on vacation with Boppa Al and Nana; gone camping in the islands with Boppa Buck and TeeTee; hiking with all of us up at Crystal; and is spending 10 days with Grandma Bonnie and Harris in Birch Bay and Sequim. She's such a grandma/grandpa girl! And she is such a little helper and great big sister!

AND NOW THE BOYS!

Camden is our big guy! He's just a few pounds smaller than Cadence, has a full head of hair (until mom shaves it all off so he looks more of an age to his bald brother) and is the sweetest little guy! He is always smiling so big -- and when he crawls he has the best wagging bum...he just shakes it from side to side it's adorable!

He is also the pickiest eater...refuses to eat anything that is not pureed unless it's a cracker. If you try, he'll give you a big sour face - then suck out all the pureed food and spit out the solid. :)

He loves to read books by himself - and more often than not we have to go in to find him after his nap -- he doesn't wake up screeching like Kellen; he just entertains himself in his crib with his books! He has the best smile for you when you walk into the room!

Kellen is the small, wiry, bald guy! That is, small for a Diercks cause he's actually bigger than most one year olds! He's crawling faster than you can believe and is just about ready to walk. Both the boys are walking around the furniture, but Kellen will be the first to go forth without support.

Kellen's the instigator and always tries to take his siblings toys and food. If he doesn't get away with it he'll step away a foot, fall on the ground, plant his head in the carpet and give a temper tantrum for about 3 seconds. Then he'll pop right back up and head out to find the next toy to conquer! :)

Both the boys are little loves and run up to us all to hug and kiss. They especially love watching their sister's antics!

AND WHAT ABOUT US? Well, we're loving being parents to these amazing kids. Getting away every weekend to the mountain cabin or camping in the San Juans -- and attending a number of friends' weddings this summer! Kyle officiated Rob and Katy's wedding in July -- he did an amazing job and the wedding was beautiful!

We spend the weeks at the indoor play gyms for the kids; tumbling classes, soccer classes, art classes and more! Zoo dates, play dates and more! It's definitely a kid-friendly atmosphere at the house these days.

Kyle is working on starting a workplace wellness company and helping Kari to start a children's apparel line. Look for more info on those this next year!
